Dr. William M. Vandervoort
Dr. William M. Vandervoort was born and raised in Anniston, Alabama. He completed his undergraduate studies with honors at The University of Alabama in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. In 2014, he graduated from The University of Alabama School of Dentistry, receiving his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. He is affectionately known as Dr. Will to his patients.
After dental school, Dr. Will completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at The Foundry Dental Center in Bessemer, Alabama. Through the residency program, he received advanced training in IV sedation, oral surgery, implant placement and restoration, prosthodontics, endodontics, and restorative and preventive dentistry.
Dr. Will is an active member of the American and Alabama Dental Associations, the Academy of General Dentistry, and Tuscaloosa Spear Dental Study Club, and was a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama Leadership Tuscaloosa 2016-2017 class.
The best part about being a dentist for Dr. Will is the relationship aspect of working with both his patients and team members. He is a people person and enjoys the interaction. He also enjoys the life-changing aspect of dentistry when he gets to help restore patients to health.
Dr. Will and his wife, Nancy, have three daughters, Virginia, Julia, and Elizabeth. When he's not caring for patients, he enjoys playing guitar, hunting, fishing, exercising, sports, and most anything outdoors.

Office Manager
Michelle joined the dental field by chance, and she's been a familiar face at our practice since 1999! She is our magic behind the scenes and is in charge of managing the practice's day-to-day operations and everything in between. She loves details!
She's also exceptionally talented in creating rapport with our patients and ensuring they thoroughly understand their treatment and financial options.
Michelle's free time is spent with family and friends!
Penny Neel
Treatment Coordinator
Penny's been working with us since 2021, and she helps our patients navigate their payment options and fit their treatment comfortably into their budgets. She appreciates working with such a friendly team that gets along so well!
When she's not at the dental office, Penny loves to hunt, fish, and spend time with her husband, Chris and two boys Lawson and Jase. A fun fact that people may not know about Penny is that she grew up playing baseball with the boys!
Katelyn Evans
Front Office Coordinator
Katelyn joined our team as a Front Office Coordinator in May of 2025. Katelyn is originally from Brookwood and had been working in the dental field for roughly 6 months prior to joining us. As a certified Dental Assistant, Katelyn possesses useful knowledge that allows her to schedule patients promptly according to their needs.
In Katelyn’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her one year old son, Beckett, reading, listening to podcasts, and watching movies.

Emily Skelton
Dental Hygienist
Emily started in the dental field in 2014 as an assistant. She became a hygienist in 2019 and has been with our dental practice since 2022. Her primary goal is to ensure that her patients feel comfortable in the dental chair by providing gentle, painless care.
When she's not caring for patients, Emily most enjoys spending time with her husband and young son, her family keeps her sane. When not with her family, Emily enjoys baking and reading. A fun fact that people might not know about Emily is that she listens to heavy metal music!
Angela Stone
Dental Hygienist
Angela has been in the dental field for over 29 years, so you can rest assured you're in capable hands when you work with her! Her favorite part of her job is getting to know her patients and team members on a personal level.
In her spare time, you'll find Angela relaxing and enjoying sports - especially softball. A fun fact that people may not know about Angela is that she can shoot a three-pointer with her eyes closed!
Marlena Champion
Dental Hygienist/Assistant
Marlena has been in the dental field since 2018. Her favorite part of the job is providing exceptional patient care in such a fun working environment!
Marlena loves spending time being outdoors and spending time with her husband and two kids, McKinnley and Easton.
A fun fact about Marlena that people might not know is she's a bookworm when it comes to romance & true crime stories.
Tara Fisher
Dental Assistant
Tara has been in the dental field since 2015 and has been with our practice since 2021. She loves making a difference in her patient's lives by being a part of their dental treatment. She also appreciates spending her days with a team focused on fun and providing exceptional dental care.
In her free time, Tara loves to be outdoors. She likes hunting, fishing, and riding 4-wheelers or razors. A fun fact that people may not know about Tara is that she enjoys doing hair and makeup for weddings and pageants. It's one of her favorite hobbies!
Bailey Stephens
Dental Assistant
Bailey enjoys working directly with patients and our dentists. As an assistant, she gets to be a part of their smile transformations and witness the joy and confidence a beautiful smile brings. She takes pride in educating her patients to help them improve their oral health. She also enjoys helping patients conquer their dental fears by giving them a wonderful experience.
When she's not caring for patients, Bailey loves stand-up comedy, photography, spending time outdoors, and being on the water.
Christian Clements
Dental Assistant
Christian is the newest face at Vandervoort Family Dentistry. She's been in the dental field since 2016. Christian was inspired to pursue a career in dentistry after having anxiety at the dentist as a child, and having a kind dental assistant help alleviate her fears. Now, she enjoys doing the same for her patients, helping them feel comfortable in the dental chair.
When she's not at the dental office, Christian enjoys reading, attending Alabama gymnastics meets and Alabama football and softball games, traveling, and shopping. A fun fact that people may not know about Christian is that she coaches gymnastics.
Haley Skelton
Dental Assistant
Haley joined the Vandervoort Family Dentistry team in 2025 as a Dental Assistant. Haley has 3 years of prior dental experience, specifically in pediatric dentistry, where she worked as a Receptionist and Dental Assistant. Haley’s favorite part about working at Vandervoort Family Dentistry is having access to constant opportunities to learn and grow her skills. She enjoys working with anxious patients, as she takes pride in being able to help them find comfort and peace during their treatment.
Outside of the office, Haley enjoys spending her time with her husband, reading, and hiking. A fun fact about Haley is that she is also a skilled Dog Trainer.
Words can’t explain just how much I love Dr. Will and his team. I just finished with my last Invisalign and my teeth are looking good!!! My husband, daughter and I are all patients here. They know you by name and check on you ever if you don’t need service. What I mean about that is my husband is under the weather and they always check on him. Wonderful place and great service!!!
