A "Homegrown" Talent
Dr. John Roberson is no stranger to Alabama. He was born and raised in Birmingham, and when it was time to attend college, he chose the University of Alabama. In 2017, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, earning cum laude honors. He then attended the University of Alabama School of Dentistry at UAB, where he earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD).
When asked what he loves about being a dentist, Dr. John places patient interactions at the top of his list. Getting to know his patients and helping them with their dental needs is incredibly rewarding to him, and he continually strives to gain new knowledge and skills.
Dr. John will do whatever he can to keep his patients at ease, restore their oral health and function, and give them a smile they’re proud to show others.
Why His "Hospital Training" Matters to You
Although he could have begun practicing dentistry as soon as he graduated from the University of Alabama at UAB, Dr. John chose to add hospital training to his list of accomplishments.
After graduating from dental school, he went on to complete a general practice residency at UAB Hospital. During his time there, he gained extensive knowledge about oral surgery, implant placement, endodontics, anxiety reduction, sedation techniques, and how to manage patients with complex medical conditions, giving him even more insight into how to comfortably treat his patients and keep them calm before, during, and after a procedure. Every patient Dr. John treats benefits from his advanced training experience.
Dr. John is a member of the American Dental Association, the Alabama Dental Association, the Birmingham District Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is also working toward his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, further illustrating his desire to continuously increase his knowledge.
Off the Clock: Who Is Dr. John?
When Dr. John isn’t busy helping his patients maintain their healthy smiles, he enjoys plenty of other activities. His favorite thing to do is spend time with family and friends. You might find him working on projects around the house, staying in shape with various exercise routines, playing lots of different sports, relaxing and watching movies, cooking his favorite meals, or watching all the Alabama sports.
